Chief Judge of Civil Court Nimal passes away

Chief Judge of the Civil Court Ahmed Nimal Junaid has passed away at the age of 36 years. He succumbed to chest pain and vomiting while undergoing emergency medical treatment.

Junaid, who held a Bachelor of Laws degree in Sharia, assumed the role of a Civil Court Judge in March 2022. He then temporarily took over the responsibilities of Chief Justice of the Civil Court on August 22, 2022, following the retirement of Chief Justice Abdulla Ali. He was officially appointed as the Chief Justice of the Civil Court on May 9, 2023.

The funeral service for Junaid will take place at the mosque located in the Hulhumale’ Cemetery following the afternoon prayer.
