President pledges to reduce payment of Vinares and MPL flats

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to alleviate the financial burden on tenants of Vinares and the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) flats in Hulhumale' Phase 2.

Addressing a campaign gathering in Male' City, President Solih acknowledged the concerns voiced by numerous citizens during his door-to-door visits, particularly regarding the substantial down payments required for Vinares flats. He assured the people that swift action would be taken to address these concerns.

Furthermore, President Solih acknowledged the concerns associated with the high prices of MPL flats. He declared his intention to lower the flat prices and review the down payment requirements for these flats.

Regarding other housing projects, President Solih disclosed that the list of beneficiaries of special flats had already been submitted to employees of the Maldives Customs Service. He also promised that the list of recipients for Maldives National University (MNU) and the Maldives Correctional Service employee housing would be made public in the near future.

The prices for the housing units in the Vinares flats fall within the range of between USD163,000 and USD168,000. These flats are available under two payment options, which are a lump sum payment or monthly installments spanning 20-25 years.
