Maldives and Togo sign Visa Waiver Agreement

The Maldives and Togo have signed an Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements. The agreement was signed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and Robert Dussey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad, at a signing ceremony held at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives in New York, United States of America (USA).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Maldivians with all types of passports will be able to travel to Togo without a visa and stay for up to 30 days within the framework of the agreement.

During the discussions following the signing ceremony, State Minister Khaleel thanked the government of Togo for its commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations with the Maldives and conveyed hope that the visa waiver agreement will increase the avenues for cooperation and people-to-people contact between the Maldives and Togo. Meanwhile, Minister Dussey expressed keen interest in strengthening the bilateral ties with the Maldives and commitment to work together on areas of mutual interest.
