ECM opens voters' list for complaints

The Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has begun accepting complaints regarding the voters' list for the second round of the presidential election.

ECM stated that the list includes 408 new names of individuals who will be eligible to vote in the second round of the presidential election on September 30. They include 212 men and 196 women. The voters' list for the first round included 282,395 eligible voters with over 27,000 new voters.

The voters' list has been published in the Government Gazette and on the ECM website. The list is also available at the local council offices. Complaints can be submitted between 0830hrs to 1500hrs on official working days, and 0900hrs to 1500hrs on holidays, and 1500hrs to 1700hrs on Fridays.

Complaints are to be submitted to the election headquarters in the Dharubaaruge convention centre in the capital Male' City or the local council office of an island. The complaints form is available on the ECM website and council offices.
