Mohamed Nazim, the presidential candidate of the Maldives National Party (MNP), has pledged to create new industries in the Maldives and bring about an economic revolution.
Speaking at the presidential debate, Nazim revealed his plan for the country's debt, which focuses on restructuring and increasing revenue in the fisheries and tourism industries. He also said he would introduce the education industry and the technology and innovation industry to double the country's income and reduce state expenditure.
Speaking about the youth, Nazim said that a specific human resource plan should be formulated for young people. He highlighted the importance of having single-session classes and allowing students to learn various skills during their free time. He also reiterated his pledge to provide free education to students from primary to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) level.
Additionally, Nazim said that citizens would no longer have to beg for healthcare services under his administration. He also said that he would introduce an insurance card that can be used to receive healthcare services anywhere. He added that the elderly should have daycare services.
Furthermore, Nazim pledged to build theme parks and Cineplexes in the Maldives to promote family recreational activities. He also said that an independent pay commission would be established to harmonise salaries and provide reasonable pay to citizens.
