Qasim Ibrahim, the presidential candidate of the Jumhooree Party (JP), has vowed to streamline and facilitate various financial transactions within the banking system.
Addressing a campaign gathering in Manadhoo, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, he spoke about his vision for a more accessible banking experience. In his speech, Qasim highlighted a prevailing issue wherein banks presently impose limitations on the amount of money that individuals can withdraw. He proposed that under his administration these restrictions would be lifted, granting individuals the freedom to withdraw any desired sum of money from their accounts in cash. He also underscored that the scope for depositing funds would also be expanded, allowing individuals to deposit as much money as they wish with the bank.
Furthermore, Qasim expressed he is running for the presidency to uphold Islamic principles and the preservation of democracy in the Maldives.
