The main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has officially confirmed that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will take part in the upcoming presidential debate jointly organised by Public Service Media (PSM) and the Maldives National University (MNU).
During a press conference, Mariya Ahmed Didi, the spokesperson for MDP's candidate, said President Solih has chosen to take part in the MNU debate due to its academic and informative nature. She noted that the president's primary focus lies in activities such as visiting islands and engaging with local communities, rather than utilising television channels for promotional purposes.
All of the presidential candidates competing in the upcoming election have now confirmed their participation in the Presidential Debate 2023. The highly anticipated debate is scheduled to take place on September 1 at 2100hrs and will be hosted at PSM.
