The Ministry of Tourism has opened for bids for the development of resorts in Medhufushi in Haa Alifu Atoll and Nalandhoo in Shaviyani Atoll.
The ministry opened the bids to develop 6,000 tourist beds in the northernmost atolls to match the potential tourist traffic after the development of Hanimaadhoo International Airport. The development of two resorts in the region is expected to increase employment opportunities and increase economic activity.
Interested parties are requested to attend a virtual Zoom meeting on August 30 and submit their proposal by September 21. They are also requested to contact the ministry via email before September 17 for further clarification of the bid.
