Qasim saddened over being disrespected for speaking truth

Qasim Ibrahim, the presidential candidate of the Jumhooree Party (JP), has highlighted that he has helped previous governments come to power but that he has been repeatedly disrespected for speaking the truth.

Speaking at a campaign event in Milandhoo, Shaviyani Atoll, Qasim noted that every government since 2008 was formed with the full support of JP but that every politician places their own interests first and forgets about the country and citizens after coming to power.

Additionally, Qasim emphasised that JP is often held accountable for the failures of various governments, yet its contributions to successes are often overlooked. He expressed his obligation to speak candidly about these matters, even though it often leads to him being subjected to humiliation and disrespect.

Furthermore, Qasim shared details of his plans if elected President, including air conditioning classrooms in all schools and treatment centres. He has also been heavily criticising previous governments during his campaign trip.
