The Maldives has attended the 15th annual general meeting of the Sri Lanka-Maldives Business Council (SLMLBC). The meeting took place in Marriott Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The meeting was attended by High Commissioner of the Maldives to Sri Lanka Ali Faiz. during the meeting, a president and two vice presidents were appointed for the next term. Managing Director of Ceylon Tours Limited Suren Ediriweera was the guest speaker at the event.
During the event, Ediriweera discussed the evolution of tourism in the Maldives, both its beginnings and its present condition. He delved into the initial obstacles he encountered as a tour operator in the Maldives and how the situation changed as demand from tourists surged. Additionally, he detailed his endeavors to boost tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka and facilitate visa arrangements for Maldivian residents in Sri Lanka.
