Zameel vows not to join coalition

Independent presidential candidate Hassan Zameel has vowed not to join a coalition, even if he loses the election.

Speaking on a special TVM programme, Zameel said that coalition governments have made grand promises in the past 15 years but has consistently made citizens more apprehensive after the conclusion of their terms. He, therefore, said he refuses to join a coalition even if he loses the presidential election.

As such, Zameel said that he will not join a party after the election to safeguard a future in politics and that he will continue to work as an independent.

Zameel recently met with his supporters at his residence, which is unlike other presidential candidates.
