Umar Naseer holds campaign rally in Hulhumale'

Independent presidential candidate Umar Naseer, along with his campaign team, has held a road rally in Hulhumale' Phase I.

The rally was attended by a significant number of Umar Naseer's supporters. Attendees proudly displayed banners and wore T-shirts showing his presidential election slogan. Notably, Umar had previously held a campaign rally in the capital city of Male'.

In his manifesto, Umar has emphasised his primary commitment to breaking free from the challenges posed by drug-related issues that afflict the nation. He has also pledged to allocate an island specifically for drug rehabilitation efforts. Addressing immigration concerns and ensuring the prompt closure of unlawfully operating foreign businesses within the first 30 days of his administration are among his promises. Additionally, he has assured the resolution of housing challenges while respecting the autonomy of private businesses and finding solutions to foreign-related matters.

Additionally, Umar has pledged to curtail government involvement in certain business sectors, instead favoring the privatisation of selected state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to foster a dynamic private sector. He revealed plans to provide tax exemptions for micro businesses. His proposals also encompass establishing a transshipment port in the southernmost region and creating a free trade port zone in the northern area.
