The Maldives is participating in the 7th China-South Asia Expo and the 27th China Kunming Import and Export Fair.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel is representing the Maldives at the events, which are being held in Kunming, Yunnan Province in China from August 16-20. During his visit, Minister of State Khaleel will also participate in the opening ceremony of the 4th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum and deliver a statement on behalf of the Maldives. He will also meet with senior officials from the Yunnan Province to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two sides.
The Maldives has attended the forum and expo in Yunnan Province in previous years, although this is the first time it has been held in-person since COVID-19 restrictions were lifted by China in January this year.
