Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, the presidential candidate of the People's National Congress (PNC), has stated that he will not dismiss political appointees upon assuming office.
Speaking at a campaign event in Dhidhdhoo, Haa Alifu Atoll, Muizzu said that one of his most important policies is to provide employment opportunities and allow citizens to build a dignified life. He also noted the large number of people in jobs created for political purposes but said that he will not target them. He, however, said he will make changes such as transferring them to other companies if their employment is creating a financial burden.
Additionally, Muizzu pledged to reclaim land and develop an airport in Dhidhdhoo and hire residents on the island and the atoll for airport services. He also pledged to develop the Haa Alifu Hospital in Dhidhdhoo and provide more opportunities for the youth.
Muizzu is visiting islands in Haa Alifu Atoll and Haa Dhaalu Atoll during his campaign. After which, he is scheduled to visit Vaavu Atoll, Meemu Atoll, Faafu Atoll, and Dhaalu Atoll.
