Faris pledges to allow means to remove subpar parliamentarians

Independent presidential candidate Faris Maumoon has pledged to allow means to more easily remove parliamentarians who are not serving the interests of their constituents.

Speaking on his policies, Faris said that he will establish means by which constituents can submit petitions to remove their parliamentarian and to vote for a new one through a by-election. He said that this would increase productivity and the quality of representation in Parliament.

Additionally, Faris expressed concern that elected officials are making decisions based on politics rather than on what would benefit the country. He highlighted the importance of passing legislation to reform the government and establish a framework to implement better policies. He said that the country needs more people to work steadfastly to empower citizens.

Furthermore, Faris said that it was important to reform institutions, as they are currently not operating efficiently, and that passing legislation and formulating policies will make this process easier. He added his administration will prioritise reform to enable citizens to live better lives.
