President of the Maldives Reform Movement (MRM) Faris Maumoon has appointed Dr. Abdul Sattar Yoosuf as his running mate.
President of MRM Faris was the sole candidate to participate in his party's primary election. Currently, the party is in a legal battle after the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM) decided to dissolve the party after failing to fulfill the membership requirement of 3,000 members.
Therefore, Faris announced his intention to contest the presidential election as an independent candidate and has gathered the necessary 1,500 signatures to qualify as an independent candidate. He has also appointed former Deputy Minister of Higher Education Ismail Zabeeh as his Election Agent.
