DJA urges to submit for record checks with sufficient time ahead

The Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has urged to submit applications to check records for the presidential election with sufficient time ahead of deadlines.

DJA commented on record checks for elections, stating that forms submitted will be accepted on non-working days as well. DJA stated it is undertaking record checking with the deadline for candidacy submission for the presidential election in mind, instead of the usual timeframe for record checking. DJA urged to submit forms at least 48 hours prior as record checks can be time-consuming. Applications can also be submitted to the DGA reception or via email.

The Election Commission of the Maldives (ECM) opened the opportunity to nominate candidates for the presidential election on July 22. The deadline for applications is open until 1400hrs on August 7.
