National Awards, Special Achievement Awards conferred to 50 recipients

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conferred the National Awards and Special Achievement Awards to 50 recipients. The honours were presented at the official ceremony held at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) to mark the 58th anniversary of independence of the Maldives.

During the ceremony, President Solih conferred the National Award of Honour on five recipients and the National Award of Recognition on 18 recipients. The recipients of the National Award of Honour were presented with commemorative shields and badges, while the National Award of Recognition recipients received commemorative plaques. The National Awards Committee, established by the President to determine the recipients of these prestigious awards, selected the individuals who were honoured.

President Solih extended his congratulations to all the recipients of the National Awards. The awards are conferred annually to acknowledge and commend the efforts of individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to the development of the nation and the betterment of society.

Also during the ceremony, President Solih conferred the President’s Award for Special Achievement and the Special Medal for Memorising the Noble Quran to 28 recipients. This year’s recipients of the awards included 15 individuals who received medals for achieving the highest rank in an academic or skill training course, two honourees were awarded for attaining the highest level in an international exhibition or competition, one individual was recognised for their skill and innovation, and ten individuals were recognised for their outstanding achievement in memorising the Holy Quran while attaining the highest grade.
