Individuals can join The Democrats on day of primary

The Democrats has stated that individuals can join the party on the day of the primary election and cast their vote.

Ilyas Labeeb is the only member to submit his form to contest in the primary election. The Democrats' regulations state that if only one candidate submits a form to contest in the primary election, he will receive the ticket through a secret ballot among the party members.

According to the regulations, the candidate must receive at least 10% of the votes cast to secure the ticket to contest in the presidential election. The Democrats will hold the primary election on July 28 and ballot boxes will be placed in islands with at least 20 members. Members will also have the opportunity to cast their vote online.

The Democrats stated that individuals will be able to join the party during the primary election in order to cast their vote and that the final voters' list will be formulated after the end of the election. As such, Ilyas will receive the party ticket if he receives votes from 10% of the members in the final voters' list.

The Democrats' registry currently has 4,100 members. However, the party will provide the opportunity for individuals to register to the party right before casting their vote in the primary election.
