Police Commissioner calls for innovation in crime prevention

Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has stated that innovative solutions are needed to address the emergence of new types of crime. He made the remark at the graduation ceremony of the second Inspector Course conducted by the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Commissioner Hameed said that only officers with passion for their work can continue in the Maldives Police Service (MPS). He also said that the police service needs officers with the ability and skills to find solutions to reduce threats and risks to public safety, noting that creative solutions should be found for emerging crimes in the Maldives.

The Inspector Course was conducted from May 17 to July 19 and covered modules such as the Police Service Act and other police related laws, developing leadership and management skills, security and operational studies and policing and investigation studies.

The inspector course was conducted to train officers on administrative duties prior to promotion. A total of 41 officers participated in the course.
