Driving track to be constructed in Hanimaadhoo

Hanimaadhoo Island Council has contracted Minute Plus Private Limited for the construction a driving track in the island as part of preparations to issue licenses for four-wheeled vehicles.

The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). As such, the state-owned company will provide USD800,000 worth of materials for the project. The project is also tasked to be completed within 25 days.

Hanimaadhoo currently only issues licenses for two-wheeled vehicles. Following the construction of the driving track, Hanimaadhoo Council stated that the island will begin issuing licenses for four-wheeled vehicles by September.
