President encourages reflection on the lessons of Hijra

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged the public to contemplate and learn from the invaluable lessons of Hijra. In his message commemorating the Islamic New Year 1445, he called upon individuals to reflect on the significance of the journey and its teachings, emphasising their potential for personal and societal growth.

The President extended warm greetings and sincere wishes for the Islamic New Year to the people of Maldives, leaders of Islamic nations, and Islamic organisations. He highlighted the importance of Hijra, the migration of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Muslims from Makkah to Madinah in search of happiness and tranquility. President Solih emphasised that it was the establishment of peace in Madinah that allowed the Muslim community to thrive, and therefore, encouraged contemplation of the lessons of Hijra during the Islamic New Year.

President Solih further urged Maldivians to construct their nation on a foundation of peace and harmony, leaving behind a legacy of economic and social prosperity for future generations. He underscored the significance of prioritising national interests above all else.
