Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has decided to introduce a media co-workspace in Male' City.
Speaking to PSM News, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of BCC Samih Adam said the decision was made to expand the project to more populated areas of the country, following the positive response received by the public on the Seeds by BCC project. As such, he said BCC is currently planning to introduce a new co-workspace for media practitioners and filmmakers.
Meanwhile, the Head of Outreach at BCC Ibrahim Ziyau said that the media co-workspace is another project being implemented by BCC under the Sustainable Economic Empowerment and Development for SMEs (SEEDS). He also said that the project is being developed with the assistance of the government of India.
BCC stated that the co-workspace will consist of two editing booths, video and audio recording and state-of-the-art equipment to record television shows. BCC aims to promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and create a favorable environment for such enterprises. In addition, businesses, freelancers, home-based workers and students will also be able to use the facility.
The co-workspace is supported by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Maldives under the Sustainable Economic Empowerment and Development for SMEs (SEEDS) project. Co-workspaces are shared office spaces that are cheap enough to rent for young entrepreneurs and start-ups.
