MPS signs road safety partnership agreements

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has signed road safety partnership agreements with three companies to conduct its Rakka campaign this year. MPS signed on Allied Insurance Company Private Limited and Sheesha Private Limited as Silver Partners and Ooredoo Maldives as the Digital Partner.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Inspector at MPS Ahmed Faseeh said the companies involved in the campaign are making efforts to ensure road safety and security under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). He also said that the campaign aims to reduce road accidents and minimise damages.

Speaking to PSM News, General Manager of Allied Insurance Ibrahim Firushan said that the campaign has been held every year since it was first launched. He also said that the campaign is expanding across the country and the company sees participation in the campaign as an important contribution to the community.

Meanwhile, Operations and Marketing Manager at Sheesha Fathimath Juman said the company is participating in the campaign for the second time after last year's success. She also noted that the campaign will reach a large number of individuals with information on road safety.

Moreover, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of Ooredoo Maldives Hussain Niyaz said that a simple billboard on road safety is not enough to raise public awareness as the world becomes more digitalised. He. therefore, said that the company will provide information on road safety and security using digital tools.

MPS conducted the Rakka campaign in 31 islands across the country last year. The campaign has provided road safety awareness to more than 16,000 individuals.
