PSM to broadcast programmes featuring presidential candidates

The Public Service Media (PSM) has announced its plans to broadcast special programmes featuring all candidates running in the upcoming presidential election.

The Managing Director of PSM, Ali Khalid, stated that the television and radio channels are working diligently to produce a variety of programs to inform the public about the candidates and their agendas. Ali Khalid said these special programmes will provide a platform for the public to directly engage with the candidates. They will include opportunities for the candidates to engage in one-on-one discussions, as well as programmes dedicated to providing information on their manifestos.

He further mentioned that he has already met with political parties, candidates, potential candidates, and their representatives to gather their input. The programmes on PSM TV and radio channels aim to showcase the ideas, policies, and visions of the candidates for the country.

He assured that PSM will ensure equal opportunity for all parties involved. However, the focus of the programmes will primarily be on providing information about the individual candidates, particularly those running as independents, rather than highlighting specific political parties.

The presidential election is scheduled to take place on September 9. PSM has been actively working to raise public awareness about election-related matters leading up to the presidential election. In previous elections, the state media has aired special programmes addressing topics such as voting rights, election preparations, and presidential candidates.
