President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have celebrated Eid al-Adha with the residents of Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll. They received a welcoming reception from the community of Thoddoo upon their arrival and attended a traditional feast hosted by the women’s community of the island on the occasion of Eid.
Following the feast, President Solih met with the women’s community and heard their concerns regarding the challenges faced by female volleyball players on the island due to the absence of a suitable court. He assured the administration will discuss their request to expedite the project to construct a volleyball court on the island.
Prior to concluding their visit, President Solih and First Lady Fazna visited the Thoddoo Local Authority Company and met with the management and staff to learn about the company's operations. Thoddoo Local Authority Company Limited is the first utility company registered by a local council to generate economic opportunities and take on risks in order to develop sustainable solutions that meet the needs of the community.
