Male' City Council has announced its decision to close certain public areas in response to requests by residents for the upcoming Eid-al-Adha holidays.
The decision was made to accommodate various activities and address the challenges faced by the public during previous occasions when vehicle movement was restricted. Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said that closing some areas will enable residents to freely walk and enjoy their time with family without any disruptions to traffic flow.
On previous occasions, the city council banned the movement of vehicles at certain times to allow families to walk freely and unhindered by the high traffic congestion in Male’. Eid-al-Adha will fall on June 28 this year.
