The Maldives has condemned the violent attacks carried out by Israeli forces in the West Bank City of Jenin, resulting in the tragic loss of five lives, including that of a minor, and causing injuries to several innocent civilians.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldives extended the heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims affected by this act of Israeli aggression, and fervently hope for a swift recovery for the injured individuals. The Maldives expressed deep concern regarding the disproportionate and excessive use of force by Israel against unarmed civilians, including women and children, in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Furthermore, the Maldives reiterated its stance that achieving lasting peace in the Middle East hinges on the attainment of a two-state solution, wherein an independent and sovereign State of Palestine is established based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Maldives said it stands united in support of their legitimate struggle for self-determination
in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people.
