MMPRC invites German journalists to experience Maldives

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has extended an invitation to some of the most prominent journalists and bloggers from Germany to experience the world-class hospitality and sustainable offerings awaiting tourists in the Maldives. The team arrived in the Maldives on May 29 to immerse themselves in the unique experiences, products, and renowned service standards of the Maldives until June 4. The participants began the familiarisation trip after taking part in the Visit Maldives’ Storytellers Conference 2023. The team also stayed at Le Meridien Maldives Resort and Spa and W Maldives during their trip.

MMPRC stated that the team had the opportunity to experience the Visit Maldives Storytellers’ Conference held from May 30 to June 2, which brought together over 70 content creators from around the world at the largest gathering of travel writers, journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media experts in the Maldives this year. At the end of the conference, the winners of the social media competition held to select the participants of the conference had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty, experiences, and hospitality of the Maldives. Participants enjoyed experiences ranging from snorkelling with mantas and whale sharks to watersports, culinary tours, island-hopping, and even sandbank picnics.

The team consisted of four journalists representing four publications and one public relation (PR) representative from German Speaking markets to provide the participants with first-hand experiences of Maldivian hospitality. The team will share their experiences with their extensive audiences through online articles, publications, and social media platforms. The activity will help to build greater brand awareness and promote the Maldives as a sustainable destination. With the combined reach of the media members, the generated content is expected to exceed a reach of 2,568,000.

The media trip is part of the marketing strategy of MMPRC for German-speaking markets, with a focus on promoting the different products, experiences, and trends of Maldives tourism. The German market is currently the top fourth source market with 61,674 arrivals as of June 6. MMPRC has big plans to further boost arrivals from the German-speaking markets this year with a series of campaigns and promotions.
