Maldives and USA sign tenth amendment to DOAG

The Maldives and the United States of America (USA) have signed the tenth amendment to the Development Objective Grant Agreement (DOAG).

The signing ceremony, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marks an important milestone in the ongoing partnership between the two countries. The amendment was signed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and the Mission Director at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Gabriel Grau.

The DOAG, a significant development cooperation agreement signed on March 12, 2019, has seen gradual increases in funding over the years. With the tenth amendment, the USA has committed an additional USD7.2 million to the Maldives, bringing the total funding to USD36.1 million. These funds will be utilised to enhance the technical capacity in public finance management of the Maldives and strengthen the resilience of the country's economic and democratic governance.
