The Independent Councillor representing Maradhoo in Addu City Ahmed Nadhir has joined the main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). He handed over his membership form to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is also the party's presidential candidate. The signing ceremony was held during the official visit of President Solih to Addu.
Additionally, a significant number of individuals from various constituencies in Addu also joined the MDP during the event. They submitted their membership forms to the party, which were received by President Solih and the Chairperson of MDP Fayyaz Ismail.
MDP holds a majority of he city council in Addu, the second-largest city in the Maldives.
