Addu City WDC notes commitment of gov't to empower women

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the members of the Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Addu City, engaging in a constructive dialogue that showcased the administration's unwavering commitment to promoting women's empowerment. The meeting took place at the Secretariat of the Addu City Council in Hithadhoo, providing a platform to discuss the progress and initiatives geared towards fostering the socio-economic growth and well-being of women in the city.

During the meeting, the dedicated members of the WDC expressed their concern regarding the current allocation of the council's budget and emphasized the significance of increasing the percentage specifically designated for WDC activities. They also put forward suggestions to introduce additional allowances for WDC members and proposed strategies to enhance women's empowerment within the broader society.

In response to the concerns raised at the meeting, President Solih highlighted the importance of amending relevant laws to facilitate the committee in addressing their challenges more effectively.
