Parliamentary Committee reviews Azad for PCB membership

The Parliamentary Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has begun reviewing the appointment of Mohamed Azad as a Member of the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB).

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih nominated Azad for PCB membership and submitted his name to the Parliament for approval. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and completed a Master's Degree in Science in Finance from International Islamic University, Malaysia. He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration from the same university, graduating as the best student in Finance.

Additionally, Azad has held the positions of SOE Reform Consultant and SOE Financial Consultant in the Ministry of Finance. He also served as Head of Account and Finance at Hazana Maldives Limited, as the Head of the Intelligence Department of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and as a board member of the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB). He was appointed as the Financial Controller at the finance ministry in late 2022.
