Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali, has embarked on an official visit to Morocco. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Joint Commission between the two countries, according to the Islamic Ministry.
The establishment of this joint commission dates back to 2019 when a bilateral agreement was signed between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Maldives and the Ministry of Religious Endowment and Islamic Affairs of Morocco. The primary objective of this collaboration is to foster the promotion of Islam and enhance religious awareness.
The much-anticipated first meeting of the Joint Commission is set to take place in Rabat, Morocco. Accompanying Minister Ahmed Zahir Ali are Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, Shafiu Ali, and Permanent Secretary, Ahmed Adeel. This delegation aims to actively contribute to the fruitful discussions and exchange of ideas during the conference.
