The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that if it had not made significant progress in the past four years many government projects in the Maldives would have been contracted to foreign companies.
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM News, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adam Azim said MTCC has achieved unprecedented progress and achievements in its 40-year history. Highlighting the achievements of MTCC in the last four years, he said the company is undertaking projects implemented by foreign companies in the past.
Additionally, Azim said that MTCC was operating as a company that could only handle 25 projects at a time until 2019. He, however, said that the company is now conducting more than 100 projects in different parts of the country. As such, he said the company undertook 65 projects last year and successfully completed 42 projects.
Furthermore, Azim said the assets of MTCC have increased from USD129.7 million to USD272.3 million. The company also has more than 4,300 employees.
