The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has provided USD28 million to more than 400 projects and activities in 2022 under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The annual report for 2022 published by MTCC showed that it conducted 420 projects under its CSR in the islands at a cost of USD28 million for the benefit of the country. As such, USD843,060 was spent on the development of Kudagiri Picnic Island in Kaafu Atoll. It is the largest amount spent on a single CSR project in the history of MTCC.
The report stated that strategic plans to further expand and strengthen various businesses are being formulated and reviewed. MTCC also noted that it has studied the changes that need to be made to businesses and has taken wise steps for the growth of businesses. In addition, there has been a significant increase in the development of the infrastructure of the company. MTCC undertook 65 new structural development projects last year and successfully completed 42 projects.
Established by the government in 1981, MTCC reported that its revenue for the previous year reached an all-time high in the company's 42-year history. Additionally, the company's operating profit and the proposed dividend to be distributed by the board of directors are the largest dividends in the company's history.
