Maldives and Slovenia explore ways to strengthen cooperation

The Maldives and Slovenia have explored ways to enhance bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation in various areas, including health, education, economy, trade, environment, and climate change. The discussions took place during the first round of political consultations between the Maldives and Slovenia.

The political consultations provide a platform for the two countries to discuss mutually important issues in bilateral, regional, and multilateral forums. The discussions focused on increasing cooperation in the tourism sector, such as improving connectivity and fostering people-to-people ties. Additionally, the two governments discussed international issues of mutual importance and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the multilateral arena.

Furthermore, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel met with Mateja Norčić Štamcar, the Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia. During the meeting, State Minister Khaleel and Director Štamcar discussed various ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The areas of focus included trade, investment, health, education, fisheries, agriculture, and climate change.

Additionally, State Minister Khaleel emphasised that the first round of political consultations to be held between the Maldives and Slovenia will be a significant step towards enhancing the partnership between the two countries.
