Gov't discusses bus route changes for convenience of children

Ministry of Education has held discussions with the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to change the bus routes for the convenience of school children.

Speaking to PSM News, Permanent Secretary Ahmed Ali said the ministry had discussed the possibility of providing bus services to school children before the start of the new academic year. He said the intention is to start special bus services for school children within the existing bus system in collaboration with MTCC. In addition, he said the discussions focused on the issues faced by school children in accessing bus services and facilitating easy access to bus services during peak hours.

The bus service between Hulhumale' Phase II and Male' City was first started for school children free of charge.
