The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the shore protection project in Gaadhiffushi, Thaa Atoll.
The shore protection project of Gaadhiffushi was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure in September 2021. The project was contracted to MTCC at a price of USD 1.2 million. The scope of the project involved, the construction of a 15m groyne, a 500m revetment, and 18,894cbm beach filling operations.
Gaadhiffushi has a population of 757 residents and is one of the many islands in the Maldives heavily impacted by erosion.
