The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has launched a special programme called Income Tax Return Filing Programme 2023.
The programme will run from June 7-22 to assist individuals in filing Income Tax returns. The programme will be conducted through phone, email and other online platforms. MIRA will assist individuals with an income of USD648.500 or less in 2022 who have chosen to prepare their accounts on a case basis in filing their Income Tax returns.
The Maldives introduced personal Income Tax on January 1, 2020. Income tax is levied on those earning more than USD3,891 per month.
