President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have attended the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The Coronation Service was held at Westminster Abbey, London; with more than 2,200 guests in attendance. Invitees included members of the Royal Family and international representatives from 203 countries. Approximately 100 Heads of State, alongside community and charity champions, were included in the service.
King Charles III, formerly the Prince of Wales, was born in 1948 and became heir apparent on the accession of Queen Elizabeth II in 1952. Upon the demise of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022, King Charles III immediately acceded to the throne. Following the crowning and enthronement of King Charles III, Queen Camilla, formerly HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, was also crowned and enthroned.
President Solih and First Lady Fazna are currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom (UK) to attend the coronation ceremony.
