Male’ City Council to distribute reusable bags to 50,000 households

Male' City Council has decided to distribute reusable cloth bags to 50,000 households free of charge.

The city council decided to distribute reusable bags to 50,000 households from Male’, Vilimale’ and Hulhumale’ Phase I and Phase II. As such, the council formed a special team to distribute bags door-to-door.

The Mayor of Male' City Mohamed Muizzu stated that the aim of the council is to carry out the project in a sustainable manner and implement various projects to protect the environment. He said that each household will receive a pack consisting of 25 bags free of charge. In addition, he said USD97,300 will be incurred from the council’s budget for the project.
