Indian Defence Minister visits Victory Day monument

Minister of Defence of India Rajnath Singh has visited the Victory Day monument after arriving in the Maldives on a three-day official visit.

Minister Rajnath Singh joined Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi at the flag-mounting ceremony held to pay tribute to the martyrs of November 3, 1988. They were accompanied by Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, and other senior officers of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

Minister Rajnath Singh is visiting the Maldives at the invitation of Minister Mariya. His visit aims to enhance defence cooperation and strengthen the longstanding defence and security partnership between the Maldives and India. The government stated that his visit represents a significant milestone in the relationship between the two countries as it brings a new level of dynamism and impetuous to the already existing defence ties.
