MCS head office to be moved to PSM radio building

The Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has stated that its head office will be relocated to the Public Service Media (PSM) Radio Building.

The government decided to demolish the Ghaazee Building, in which the MCS head office is located, and replace it with a parking zone. Correctional services are expected to slow down during the process of relocation.

The Ghaazee Building was opened in 1982 to provide a centralised location for various government offices to operate under one roof. Ministry of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure stated that the building is in a deteriorated condition and not safe for use and that the government aims to demolish the building and replace it with a parking zone as soon as possible.
