Parliament Committee reviews appointment of PCB member

Parliamentary Committee on State-Owned Enterprises has begun reviewing the appointment of Fathimath Shirveen as the legal member of the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB). She was appointed as a PCB member in accordance with the authority granted to the president.

Prior to her appointment, Fathimath Shirveen worked as the State Counsel of the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). She is also an executive member of Family Legal Clinic, a non-governmental organisation (NGO). She obtained a Master of Law from the University of Cambridge, England.

PCB consisting of seven members was established to carry out privatisation, corporatisation, monitoring, evaluation, and selling of public shares from government companies, government shareholding companies, and commercial government businesses under the law and all procedures relating to such activities.
