State recovered USD84,000 in 2022: ACC

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has revealed that the state recovered USD84,000 of USD2.3 million in 2022.

Statistics for 2022 show that 758 cases were filed at the ACC and 486 cases were registered and 434 cases were investigated, which is a 14% increase compared to 2021. ACC also submitted 49 cases for duty prosecution and a total of 73 cases were in duty prosecution by the end of 2022.

Additionally, ACC decided to seek the recovery of USD4.9 million in state assets related to 25 cases and requested various authorities to recover USD2.3 million in 18 cases. ACC also established a section to oversee the work to recover state assets in 2022. The section has confirmed that state authorities have recovered USD84,000 of the USD2.3 million.

Also in 2022, ACC investigated 167 cases related to procurement and 69 cases related to employment. The commission also made efforts to improve its administration and spread public awareness of corruption last year.
