Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has stated that the administration is continuing to fulfill the expectations of the people. He made the remark at the opening of the Maldives Open 2023 - 10 Ball Championship, the first international billiard tournament in the Maldives.
At the opening ceremony, Minister Shahid spoke on the topic of foreign policy and highlighted the administration's efforts in establishing and strengthening diplomatic relations with numerous countries over the past four years. He expressed confidence in the administration's robust foreign policy, which has been lauded by the international community.
Additionally, Minister Shahid said the development of all sports across the Maldives is a top priority for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and that providing exposure to international tournaments and building the capacity of Maldivian players and associations is part of that effort. He noted that more international sports events are being in the Maldives and more athletes receive opportunities to train abroad.
Furthermore, Minister Shahid said that the administration makes every pledge with the guarantee that it will be fulfilled. President Solih’s policy includes the equitable development of all sports and providing opportunities to all athletes in the country.
