NCIT upgrades eFaas mobile application

National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) has stated that it is upgrading the eFaas mobile application. NCIT stated that the upgrades will be carried out within 10 days, during which some features of the application may not be available to the beta testers.

The application was developed and is being maintained by NCIT since 2012. The application serves as the digital identity system used by the government and state agencies to provide online services. Unprecedented improvements have been made to the service in the past four years. Most importantly, many services that used to be available at the offices of government institutions are now provided through eFaas.

A total of 137,000 individuals are registered for eFaas, which currently provides over 440 services. Authorities are also continuously upgrading the service by introducing two-factor authentication. Face recognition technology allows individuals to verify themselves anywhere at any time.
