The Maldives and Russia have discussed enhancing the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. The discussion was held after the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Russia Aishath Shaan Shakir presented her Letter of Credence at a ceremony held at the Embassy of Russia in Berlin, Germany.
Under a special arrangement made by the government of Russia, Ambassador of Russia to Germany Sergey Nechayev received the Letter of Credence issued by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and addressed to President Vladimir Putin.
During the meeting that followed the ceremony, Ambassador Nechayev welcomed Ambassador Shaan and wished her success in undertaking her duties. Ambassador Shaan expressed her gratitude and conveyed personal greetings and warm felicitations from President Solih to President Putin and the people of Russia. She also expressed her commitment to enhancing existing bilateral relations and close cooperation between the two countries.
