The Maldives and Pakistan have discussed strengthening air connectivity between both countries. The discussions were held during a courtesy call paid by the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani on Vice President Faisal Naseem.
At the meeting held at the President's Office, Vice President Naseem and High Commissioner Gilani discussed issues of mutual interest, including ways to strengthen further the cordial relations between the two countries, which have spanned several decades based on mutual values and interests. They also spoke about strengthening air connectivity, enhancing ties in tourism, culture, sports, training, and education, and continuing stalled discussions on the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in various sectors.
Additionally, Vice President Naseem inquired about the situation in Pakistan following the devastating floods in 2022. In conclusion, Vice President Naseem and High Commissioner Gilani expressed their eagerness for continued relations and cooperation in the years to come.
